CAMP 2A instructors are certified to teach the National Rifle Association’s Basics of Rifle Shooting Course.
The course goal of NRA Basic Rifle is to teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a Rifle safely.

This NRA Basic Rifle Course is designed for individuals who:

Are new to rifles, or are looking for an extensive and thorough refresher on rifles, safety and operation.

Are taking this course as one of the requirements in becoming a Certified NRA Basic Rifle Instructor.

Important Requirements and Information
Please note the following important information before registering for this course:
- Instruction will be conducted in a classroom setting. Live-fire qualification will be conducted at a gun range and is required for all course attendees to receive their NRA Basic Rifle Certificate (Received by US Mail upon successful completion of course).
- Certain classroom locations are NOT wheelchair accessible or may require the use of stairs. If there is a medical condition or physical disability the instructor should be aware of, please contact us prior to registering for this course.
Identification
Bring your valid Illinois Driver’s License/State ID and your valid FOID Card. Both are required to attend this course.
Safety First
DO NOT bring your firearm(s) into the instruction facility or classroom. The instructor will provide the firearm required for qualification at the gun range.
NO live ammunition is allowed in the instruction facility or classroom. The instructor will provide the ammunition for qualification at the gun range.
NO alcohol or drugs prior to or during the course. Any indication thereof will lead to immediate removal from the course.
Dress Code
- Upper body: Shoulders, chest, and abdomen must be covered.
- Lower body: Pants or long shorts covering thighs.
- Feet: Fully covered outdoor footwear (No sandals/flip-flops).
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 72 hours in advance for a full refund. Classes canceled less than 72 hours before will not be refunded, though credit may be applied. Stripe fees (2.9% + 0.30) are non-refundable.
